ST. LOUIS COUNTY - A child and two men were seriously hurt when the car they were in careened off an Interstate 55 overpass onto the road below, the Missouri Highway Patrol said.
The 2001 Ford Escape crashed through a guardrail and onto Butler Hill Road about 2:30 p.m., said Sgt. Julie Scerine of the highway patrol.
The child, believed to be 3 or 4 years old, was buckled into a car seat in the back seat and was talking with emergency personnel on the way to the hospital, Scerine said. The child's condition was unknown.
The two men were seriously hurt. Both were taken to St. Anthony's Medical Center, Scerine said.
