KSDK -- A Jefferson County deputy is recovering from injuries he suffered during a pursuit Tuesday afternoon.
Jefferson County Sheriff Glenn Boyer said that around 1:30 p.m., a deputy on patrol near Highway PP near Antire Road spotted a man with an active felony warrant driving a black GMC pickup truck. The deputy tried to pull the truck over, but it sped away.
Boyer said the truck forced several vehicles off the road before turning onto Highway 30. The vehicle continued eastbound and exited into the Gravois Bluffs Shopping Center. Then the driver turned the truck onto Highway 141 and sped off to Arnold.
The vehicle stopped on Astra Way near 141 and deputies tried to approach the vehicle. The suspect then allegedly backed up, injuring a deputy nearby. The driver of the truck sped off and the pursuit resumed
