KSDK -- AmerenUE announced Wednesday that its
440-megawatt Taum Sauk pumped storage hydroelectric plant is again
generating electricity.
The rebuild of the upper reservoir was completed in November 2009.
It is the largest roller-compacted concrete dam in North America.
Warner Baxter, AmerenUE president and chief executive officer, said
the company was thrilled that Taum Sauk had returned to service and
expressed appreciation for the tremendous support they received from
the community during the rebuild of the reservoir and restoration at
