Church emphasizes importance of deaf ministry

Fri Apr 16 2010, 20:37 by Admin

Traditionally, the deaf have been an overlooked group in the world of
religion, according to First Baptist Church of Arnold officials.

"Less
than 1 percent of the deaf in North America have ever heard the gospel
in their heart language, which is sign language," said the Rev. Bob
Caldwell, First Baptist's pastor of outreach.

However, at First Baptist, the congregation has made ministering to the deaf a priority, he said.

"We have multiple deaf ministries throughout our church and community," he said.

While I don't want 'political' debate here, these folks need help. This situation is unacceptable, it was a mistake to let these homes be built.

Letters to Arnold residents say methane gas could be leaking into homes

Fri Feb 19 2010, 00:31 by Admin

KSDK -- Residents in a Jefferson County suburb are
getting letters from a testing company that methane gas may be leaking
into their homes. It's the second time in a week that residents living
near closed landfills have been notified that methane may be leaking
from the landfills at levels higher than allowed.
The latest round of letters is going to neighbors who live near a
long closed landfill near Highway 141 and Astra Way. The dump closed in
1977 after a lawsuit by neighbors complained of the nuisance.
Della Baker says she was part of the old lawsuit and is disappointed

Folks, for the last couple of days, we seem to be experienceing some issues. I think it has to do with some updates to the fourm service, but am not sure. I am trying to get to the bottom of it, but please be patient. Problems seem to be with some graphics coming up, with the box to type messages into, and sometimes when loading the page, it needs to be reloaded because it does not display properly. I am working on it, but it may be tghings I have no control over. Thanks

Ok, I was having issues today when I logged on from work. One issue is when you reply, the words dont wrap when you get to the end of the box, you actually have to type blind several words before it appears back in the box. I have this issue at work, and Randy, I believe you said you also have it. I would be interested to see if anyone else does, because on 3 computers here, I do not have that issue? I wonder if it could be some browser setting.
Also, I had a heck of a time getting graphics to load, both the logo, and menu bar graphics. Anyone else? Like I said, from home, all is well on 3 computers, and with 2 browsers. I try it on google chrome, and on IE7. I guess I should try it with firefox too. If you are having issues, please let me know, and what browser you are using?

I, like Randy, have noticed that sometimes the new post icon does not turn red. I just posted a bunch from my admin screenname, and when I logged on as myself, some of them were red and some were not. I am not sure why, nor is it in my power to change. I am assuming it has something to do with the changes and beta testing going on by forumotion, and hopefully this will get straightened out. I am contacting them and hopefully there will be a solution.
