Church emphasizes importance of deaf ministry

Fri Apr 16 2010, 20:37 by Admin

Traditionally, the deaf have been an overlooked group in the world of
religion, according to First Baptist Church of Arnold officials.

"Less
than 1 percent of the deaf in North America have ever heard the gospel
in their heart language, which is sign language," said the Rev. Bob
Caldwell, First Baptist's pastor of outreach.

However, at First Baptist, the congregation has made ministering to the deaf a priority, he said.

"We have multiple deaf ministries throughout our church and community," he said.

Sinking House

While I don't want 'political' debate here, these folks need help. This situation is unacceptable, it was a mistake to let these homes be built.

Letters to Arnold residents say methane gas could be leaking into homes

Fri Feb 19 2010, 00:31 by Admin

KSDK -- Residents in a Jefferson County suburb are
getting letters from a testing company that methane gas may be leaking
into their homes. It's the second time in a week that residents living
near closed landfills have been notified that methane may be leaking
from the landfills at levels higher than allowed.
The latest round of letters is going to neighbors who live near a
long closed landfill near Highway 141 and Astra Way. The dump closed in
1977 after a lawsuit by neighbors complained of the nuisance.
Della Baker says she was part of the old lawsuit and is disappointed
in the latest …

Ok, I have a choice to make. when
showing posts in a topic, would you
rather have the newest post come
first, like topics do, and then when
you click on a topic you would see the
latest one first and have to scroll dow
to see older ones, or the other way around

Oldest first, then scroll to see the newer ones. I think that is the most common method. Though I'm starting to see the reverse to gain a little popularity. But for this sites purpose, I think original first would be best.

Also, please, Please, PLEASE! get rid of the massive logo. Or just make it much smaller. It's taking up the top 3/4 of the screen.

Thanks, I will work on that logo. It is a little large, but I have been doing this on the fly. I still have some work to do on the final version and then I will get it sized right. Although, on my screen it takes up about 1/3 (after the browser tabs.
Also, I too am leaning towards oldest first and then down. In some forums the opposite may work, but for the most part I am beginning to think not. Thanks again!

Newest first please. I don't want to have to scroll through 20 pages of posts to get to the newest posts of the day. The problem is that even if there is a hot button to get you to the last (newest) post you will still have to scroll backwards to find those posts you have missed since your last visit. Much easier to do newest first.

Thanks,
Randy H.
