The Jefferson College Machine Tool/CNC Program will be phased out, much to the displeasure of the program's supporters.
Citing declining enrollment and poor projected employment predictions in the machine tool and CNC (computer numerical control) fields, the Board of Trustees voted Feb. 12 to eliminate the program with the stipulation that those already enrolled in it would be allowed to complete their degrees.
"We've all been assured the students are being taken care of," said Trustee Ron Scaggs, regarding the students being allowed to complete their degrees.
