At the board's meeting Feb. 12, members agreed to accept a proposal made by Gov. Jay Nixon last month to maintain higher education funding levels in exchange for a tuition freeze.
The wild card in the equation is the state Legislature, which still has a say in whether the proposal will move forward in its present form or, for that matter, be approved at all.
