Rockwood Summit's Kevin Dwyer won the personal battle against Seckman's
Kyle Leslie in the championship game of last week's Seckman Holiday
Tournament.
But it was Leslie's team that was posing with the
first-place plaque after a 57-51 victory. The tournament title was the
third in the 13-year history for the host team. Seckman also won in
1999 and 2005.
"This was special," said Leslie, who followed up
31- and 30- point efforts in the first two rounds of the tournament
with a 29-point outing against the Falcons. "It is the first tournament
championship of any kind that I have been a part of at Seckman. I
played varsity baseball for a couple of years and played soccer as a
freshman and sophomore. We never even won a district tournament."
