KSDK -- Cardinals third baseman David Freese was arrested over the weekend, suspected of DWI.
Maryland Heights police said Freese was stopped for a traffic offense
on Saturday at 2:40 a.m. He was arrested following the Standardized
Field Sobriety Test on suspicion of DWI and failure to drive within a
single lane. Freese was the only person in the car when he was pulled
over. Freese's vehicle was towed from the scene, per department policy.
Freese's high-profile attorney, Scott Rosenblum, was expected to release a statement this afternoon.
Rosenblum has defended a number of other local athletes, including Rams
defensive end Leonard Little, who was found not guilty of a drunk
driving charge against him in 2003.
