ST. LOUIS -- Humane Society volunteers have nursed puppies and adult dogs rescued from a puppy mill in southwest Missouri back to health. Now, the pooches are ready for adoption to qualified owners.
Beginning at noon today, interested people can go to the Humane Society of Missouri's headquarters at 1201 Macklind Avenue in St. Louis to look at the dogs who are well enough to be adopted out.If people can't make it to the headquarters, they can view the dogs online at hsmo.org. Applications for adoption are also available on online.
The society must review the applications to see if prospective new owners are qualified to take care of the dogs, who have special needs because of their maltreatment at the puppy mill discovered near Seneca, Mo., in Newton County last month.
