SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) -- Missouri State University is offering people who have lost their jobs a 50 percent reduction in tuition.
The school in West Plains announced the plan Friday. Missouri State President Mike Nietzel says the program would help unemployed workers improve their job prospects and, perhaps, help the area's economy recover.
Nietzel says eligible people have to be Missouri residents who have lost full-time jobs since October because of the economy. Some type of proof of job loss will be required.
