General Motors Corp. said Monday it will halt production for a week in March at its Wentzville van plant and cut 2,000 jobs at its plants in Michigan and Ohio as the struggling automaker grapples with slumping sales.
Detroit-based GM has scheduled a down week starting March 2, said Chris Lee, a GM spokesman.
The down week is in addition to the previously announced down weeks of Jan. 5, Jan. 12, Feb. 16 and Feb. 23.
