KSDK -- A group of Missouri police chiefs have released some dramatic video; a list of the most dangerous red light running violations of 2008. This comes the same week that a Missouri state senator proposed legislation to have red light cameras banned.
State Senator Jim Lembke calls the cameras "big brother and big government at its worst." He and other opponents of the cameras believe they're unconstitutional.
Police disagree. They say that when it comes to promoting safety, these cameras are a valuable tool and deterrent. In fact, the Hazelwood Police Chief Carl Wolf says in the year that they've had cameras in his jurisdiction violations have decreased 68%.
