A former federal government employee was sentenced to two years in prison and ordered to pay $261,000 in restitution on theft charges, U.S. Attorney Catherine Hanaway said Tuesday.
Steven Brown, a civilian employee at the Arnold, Mo., facility of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, which is part of the U.S. Department of Defense, stole $284,892 from the government by creating false invoices for computer equipment and various supplies, Hanaway’s office said.
