Tim Waltenberger doesn't see rankings. He doesn't look records. Or at reputations. Or at schools.
When the Windsor senior looks across the mat at a wrestling opponent he sees trouble. At least he sees the possiblilty of trouble.
Which is why everyone who steps on the mat against Waltenberger's gets the same thing: his best.
And that's why Waltenberger is 17-0.
"Whenever I go in I feel that anybody can beat me so I work just as hard, harder," Waltenberger said. "I think a 'nobody' can beat me just as somebody at the top of the list could."
So far it has been a picture-perfect senior season for Waltenberger, who closed the 2008 portion of the season Monday and Tuesday by winning the 189-pound weight class title at DeSmet's Spartan Invitational. Waltenberger was Windsor's only winner at the meet. Windsor's Cody Boehm (103) and Brandon Campbell (215) finished second.
