While the Cats Away

It seems that while the Fox Marching Warriors were out at the parade honoring the Fox Warrior Football Team, some low-lifes were inside going through band members purses and backpacks stealing their belongings. Some kids work really hard to buy things only to have it stolen while they are out doing a good deed. I hope whomever did that is real proud of themselves, they're already on the path to self-destruction.

What a shame. I hope they catch the culprit. What I dont understand, is does the band director not lock those doors? So who has access?

There wasn't supposed to be anybody in there, they were supposed to report to the choir room. Students were retrieved from the band room and ushered to the choir room as soon as it was realized that they hadn't checked in, but evidently the deeds had already been done. One of the students, who at this time shall remain nameless, admitted to playing a game on the DV, but doesn't know what happened to it after he set it down(I've heard that exact same story before.) Since the items taken were not in the same section of the room, it means they had to go through the pockets and purses as the items didn't just jump out of there. I''m just thoroughly disgusted . It's not like this is the first time this has happened, it happens ALL THE TIME. Constantly. Now they have two resource officers at the school, what does that tell you? Things evidently aren't getting any better. Someone has to teach these kids that it is wrong to steal. Punish them more than just a slap on the wrist and a trip to Bridges. There are a bunch of juvenile delinquents up there that are allowed to do whatever they please because, no one wants to deal with them. They aren't doing those kids any favors. They are just enabling them to get into bigger and better trouble. The kids that they steal from will go on to be productive human beings and accomplish things in life, The kids that do the stealing will continue to steal and generally will end up on the welfare rolls or county jail or prison, the whole time thinking they deserve what everybody else has and shouldn't have to work for it. Those are some great lessons, aren't they?
Here is a serious question for everyone. Just how many things get stolen on a daily basis at Fox High School? I know that my family alone has had 3 IPods stolen, I know that Will's son had money taken out of his football locker, how about it, anybody know? You can bet your bottom dollar that I will ask, first thing on Monday morning.

Unfortunately, I think it is a sign of the times, and frankly, I am not sure what the school can do about it. It starts at home mostly. I know if I found out my son had stolen something from someone, he would have to get special permission to stand during class, cause he wouldnt be able to sit. In fact, standing might not be to easy either. And the teachers and administrators, well, those little sticky fingered angels must surely have the most supportive of parents when it comes to getting them out of a jam...... so they are between a rock and a hard place as far as discipline. I am not sure what the answer is. I do know my son is told often he better be careful of his ipod and cell phone (which technically are not supposed to be at school, though some teachers allow it). Not sure what the answer is.............
