Get your DVRs and laptops ready, because Arnold City Council meetings could soon go digital.

The City Council passed a resolution Thursday creating a committee to examine the possibility of broadcasting council meetings on television and the Internet.

"We'd like to do a more transparent meeting," said Mayor Ron Counts. "That's the goal. We're going to study the issue and kick it around."

Students at Fox High School talk about President Obama's visit

KSDK -- The visit by President Obama is one that most students at Fox High School in Arnold will never forget.

"It's just crazy that out of all cities that like of all cities he chooses to come to our city.. and that we got the opportunity to come and see him," said 17-year-old junior Amanda Slavik.

Vice President Joe Biden visited Jefferson County last fall.

Obama event on 100th day to be in Arnold

ARNOLD, Mo. (AP) -- The White House says President Barack Obama's town hall meeting on his 100th day in office will be in Arnold on Wednesday.
The event is scheduled for 10:20 a.m. CST at Fox Senior High School in the suburban St. Louis city. The White House says the event is open to the public, but a ticket is needed. Doors open at 8 a.m.

Armed robbery in Arnold?

My son who works at McD's said he was told that shortly before he went to work yesterday, someone was robbed at gunpoint on the parking lot of the Richardson Rd store. If I get more details I will post them.

The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) and participating law enforcement agencies from Pevely, Herculaneum and Festus will implement a travel safe zone on Interstate 55 from the city limits of Pevely, north of Route Z to Route 67 beginning Friday.

In a travel safe zone, traffic violation fines will double. The purpose of the travel safe zone is to remind motorists to think about safety
