JEFFERSON COLLEGE: Student facing sexual assault charge on Tue Apr 21 2009, 19:15
A Jefferson College student has been charged with sexual assault involving another student in connection with an incident reported last week.
Felipe Esquivel, 20, has been charged with one count of deviate sexual assault involving a woman, 19, according to a Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney's Office spokesman. Esquivel was released from custody after posting bond.
A Jefferson College official verified that Esquivel has been a member of the school's soccer program after coming to the school in January. Esquivel is a permanent U.S. citizen with green card status, the official said.
Hillsboro Police Chief Charles Bennett said the incident was reported April 15, with the victim alleging the incident occurred between 3 a.m. and 4 a.m. that day in the Viking Woods student housing apartment on the school's Hillsboro campus.
